The strip down started with the
removal of the body panels, in the easy order:
Note the WD40 in the bottom of the picture (and hacksaw when the WD40 fails!) |
|
Hacked all the existing wiring out,
i'm making my own loom so i didn't need to be too careful about removing
the existing harness.
Next the wings were removed followed by the radiator panel and the bumper. The coolant that was drained off was a nasty colour and smelt really foul, there was also a lot of rust in the water and plastered on the inside of the hoses. |
|
Windscreen and vent panel removed.
Removed the Clutch and brake pedals, labelling up all the pipe work so I know where it all goes back on reassembly. Also pre-labelled all the diesel pipe work. |
|
A view of the strip down so far
from the rear.
The engine and gearbox where thick with grease and muck. |
|
Removed the rod linking the steering relay to the steering box and then removed the bulkhead complete with steering assembly and bulkhead supports. |
